Be proud to own the first 180 Hp. Archer ever made, the plane that
still ranks as the best single engine, fixed gear plane that Piper ever
developed.  Its historic because Piper assembled it in 1975 and put the first
1100 hours on it testing and certifying the new design.
Another great advantage ... you never have to wonder if an AD
applies to this plane, because if a range of serial numbers is given,
7690001 appears as the first number if the AD applies to this plane.
Modifications to the Airframe:
1. Wing tips with strobe lights 2. Rudder tip with strobe light 3. Wing root fairings 4. Late model main gear and nose gear covers and fairings 5. Flap gap seals 6. Aileron gap seals
These make possible a comfortable 130 knot cruise with good economy - about ten knots faster than the unmodified Archer II. The plane is equipped with air conditioning, although it is
currently disconnected, with the compressor removed, since most of the
flying is done in Californias pleasant climate.
Avionics
Has
usual dual array of radios and navigation instruments, plus a
hand-held, plug-in Garmin GPS92.  For passenger comfort, it has a
Pacific Coast Avionics PCA-24 4-person intercom, for pilot copilot, and
two passengers. |
